My approach

Choosing a doula is about more than finding someone to support you during labor.

It’s about finding someone you trust to walk alongside you through one of the most transformative seasons of your life.

From our first conversation, my goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported.

Together, we’ll discuss your hopes, concerns, and priorities for birth while creating a plan that feels aligned with your values and goals.

Throughout pregnancy, you’ll have someone to learn from, prepare with, and reach out to when questions arise.

As your due date approaches, you’ll know that you don’t have to navigate the uncertainty alone.

When labor begins, my hope is that you feel prepared, grounded, and confident in the work we’ve already done.

Throughout labor, I provide steady emotional support, evidence-based information when decisions arise, physical comfort measures, and guidance that helps you stay connected to yourself and your goals.

When you look back on your birth experience, my hope is that you felt informed in your decisions, supported in your experience, and proud of the strength you discovered along the way.

Why a doula?

Birth is deeply personal, but it was never meant to be navigated alone.

Your provider, whether it’s a doctor in a hospital or a midwife at home, is there to care for your medical needs. A doula is there to support you.

Through continuous emotional, physical, and informational support throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, a doula helps you feel informed, grounded, and connected to yourself as you move through the unknowns of birth. Together, we will discuss the birth process, explore your options, and identify your worries and priorities.

My role as your doula is not to make decisions for you or tell you how your birth should unfold. My role is to help you understand your options, honor your intuition, and feel supported in making the choices that feel right for you and your family.

Because sometimes what you need most isn’t another opinion.

It’s someone who knows your goals, understands your concerns, and can help you stay connected to yourself throughout the process—a safe third party to lean on from the first contraction to your baby’s first breath earthside.

At Earthside Collective, I believe every woman deserves to feel safe, seen, and heard as she crosses the bridge into motherhood. My hope is that you walk away from your birth feeling informed in your decisions, supported in your experience, and proud of the strength you discovered along the way.

A few common questions

Before we connect.

When should I hire a doula?

It’s never too early.

The earlier we begin working together, the more time we have to build a relationship, prepare for birth, discuss your options, and answer questions as they arise. That said, it’s never too late to reach out.

Will you replace my partner?

Absolutely not.

Your partner knows and loves you in a way that no one else can.

My role is not to replace them.

I am there for you.

While your partner is experiencing the birth through the lens of someone who deeply loves you and your baby, I remain focused on supporting you, guiding your partner, and helping your entire birth team work together.

What if my birth doesn’t go according to plan?

Birth is beautifully unpredictable.

My goal isn’t to help you achieve a particular birth.

My goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in the decisions you make along the way.

Can I still hire a doula if I want an epidural?

Absolutely. Doula care is not tied to one type of birth. I support your choices and help you stay comfortable, informed, and cared for—medicated or unmedicated.

What birth settings do you support?

Hospital.

Birth Center.

Home Birth.

With the right preparation and support team, I believe it is possible to have a grounded and supported birth in any setting.

What areas do you serve?

Los Angeles and Orange County.

I am based in Long Beach and happily attend hospital, birth center, and home births throughout the surrounding communities.

What happens after our consultation?

If we decide we’re a great fit, I’ll send over a service agreement and invoice to officially reserve your due date.

Once everything is complete, we’ll begin preparing for your birth together.
