About

Hi, I’m Katie.

My story

Motherhood changed me in ways I could never have prepared for.

It has been beautiful, messy, sacred, and wildly human—sometimes all before breakfast.

It has also shown me how deeply women need to be cared for while they are learning to care for someone else. We need nourishment. Honest conversations. Steady support. People who can sit beside us in the uncertainty and remind us, “Yes, this is a lot—but you don’t have to do it alone.”

When I emerged from postpartum, I found myself searching for a better way. My birth had been magical, but I eventually realized that I had felt more lucky than prepared. I began to wonder what that experience could have looked like with deeper preparation—and started dreaming about supporting women as they crossed the bridge into motherhood.

The path here

How Earthside began.

My postpartum curiosity led me to the Oh Baby! School of Holistic Nutrition, where I studied pregnancy, postpartum, and infant nutrition. There, I learned just how important it is to support mothers not only nutritionally, but emotionally as well.

I fell in love with the idea of being able to hold someone’s hand as they welcomed their baby earthside—and then help nourish them in the days and weeks that followed.

After completing my Certified Nutrition Consultant training, I continued searching for ways to support women more deeply and found my way to Bini Birth.

Surrounded by wise, experienced birth workers, I discovered something that changed the course of my life: I could build a career centered around supporting women through one of the most transformative experiences they will ever have.

I could become a birth doula.

The Earthside Collective was born before the certifications. It began the moment I held my son for the first time and understood that every woman deserves support, nourishment, and community as she welcomes her baby earthside.

Today, I combine evidence-based education, practical preparation, and compassionate care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

A little more about me

Born and raised in Long Beach.

When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me outside with my son, Oliver, at the boathouse rowing with friends, on a yoga mat, or making snacks in our kitchen.

I value fresh air, strong community, good food, and the small moments that bring us back to ourselves.

I’m so glad you’re here.
